H. Stanley Wood, who died suddenly March 11 in Freeport, was born in Dexter, November 26, 1869, son of Capt. Henry L. and Mary (Buckley) Wood.  After leaving school, he went to St. Paul, Minn., living there many years, then several years in California, and for the past twenty-five years in Freeport.

The following obituary is copied from the Portland Press Herald:
Funeral services for Henry Stanley Wood, 75, Dexter native, retired wealthy business executive and resident of Wolf's Neck in Freeport for the past 25 years, who died suddenly Saturday, will be held at 4 p. m. Tuesday in Bigelow Chapel, Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Mass.  Formerly affiliated with the American Hoist and Derrick Co. of St. Paul, Minn., he was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Kora Shrine.  Surviving him are his widow, Constance Caldwell Wood;  four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Holt, Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Henry Morris, Washington, D.C., and Miss Theodora; two sons, Roger of Newton, Mass., and Morton, and a sister, Mrs. Imogene Weymouth of Dexter.
