Robert E. WILSON
Emma DUCLOS
WARNING:  I cannot figure what's going on here.  A Pedigree Resource File at the LDS (see excerpt below) shows Emma DUCLOS as being the Emma who married both Robert WILSON and John "Jack" STROUP.  I agree that the evidence points to that being true, except for the baffling 1920 census records, where Emma is enumerated as living with both Robert and with John.  It's not that unusual for someone to get enumerated twice in the census if they moved during the census year, especially if that move was to a different county.  If Robert and Emma were going through a separation (and divorce?) during the census year, being enumerated twice is not beyond reason.  What doesn't "fit" is the children.  While Emma's elder children might have opted to stay (or been court ordered to stay) with their father, how do we reason that Ella and Kelley (or at least Kelley, if Bessie E. is Ella) were not with Emma when she was enumerated with Robert?  And why were they the only children with her when she was enumerated with John?  There may be records of a divorce or child custody dispute in the county court of either Washington or Iron County that should be sought to resolve the mysteries here.  If someone out there knows the answers, please share.

Where's Kelly?  And if Bessie E. is not Ella, where's Ella?  Robert and Emma must have been in the midst of their separation during the census year because Emma has managed to get herself enumerated twice, once here and once with her future second husband (see next source).

It's seems not insignificant that John STROUP is not at the top of the list of Isom's children (as his age would dictate), but next to Emma — because, by the next census, John and Emma are married.
