11.  William Henry Perrin.  1884.  County of Christian, Kentucky:  Historical and Biographical.  F.A. Batey Publ., Chicago.
p. 300 About the year 1800 there was quite an influx from Georgia, Virginia and the Carolinas into the county.  Among other were... Ezekiel Wood, Thomas and James Vaughn, and William Morrow, a brother-in-law of the Vaughns.  Wood was a saddler, James Vaughn ran a distillery and Morrow was a farmer.  The latter built on the present site of Mount Vernon...
p. 305 Vaughn's Chapel of the Methodist Episcopal Church South was organized about 1870 in the Mount Vernon Precinct... Vaughn's Chapel was a combination of several smaller churches, which were absorbed in its formation...
p. 391 With Thomas Morrow, in 1789, came James Vaughan, and settled on a farm adjoining Mt. Vernon, where he lived to a ripe old age.  Richard Vaughan, his son, is now engaged in business in Fariview...
It makes much more sense if "1789" is a typo for "1798."  James and Thomas show up on the 1799 tax rolls of Christian Co., possibly in 1798, but definitely not in 1797 (nor earlier in Logan Co.).  Thomas Morrow is son of William Morrow.
