William and Alice were too young to have married in 1865.  Alice was born in either 1852, not 1845.  Catawissa was then and is now in Columbia County, so which is wrong, the town or the county?

3.  1860 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  Mary A. CARDELL (æ 8, b. PA) is living in Shamokin Twp., Northumberland Co., PA, with her parents, Emanuel CARDELL (æ 45, p. PA) and Mary A. (æ 40, b. PA).

4.  1870 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  can't find the CARDELL family, and I really looked, including a page-by-page search of Shamokin Twp. and Shamokin Boro.

5.  1880 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  Alice CARDELL (æ 26, b. PA) is living in Shamokin Twp., Northumberland Co., PA (p. 421D), with her parents, Emanuel CARDELL (æ 68, b. PA) & Mary A. (æ 57, b. PA).

Where is Cora?  She's not indexed as living with anyone else (nor is there any girl surnamed VASTINE her age with name beginning "E").  If the Floyd bio is correct (see below), then "Leon E." is enumerator error for Cora E., an error possibly made by the enumerator when transferring his field notes to the Population Schedules.
