These data indicate:aves
No., Race, Gender  Age Class Therefore Born Individuals Inferred
1 white male 9 or under 1810-1820 = ?
2 white male 16-18 1801-1804 = ?
1 white male 19-25* 1794-1801 = William
1 white female 9 or under 1810-1820 = Mary Ann (b. 1820)
1 white female 10-15 1804-1810 = Catherine
3 people engaged in manufacture
1 female slave 26-44 1775-1794 = ?
*In the 1820 Census, the third column is age class 16-18 and the fourth column is age class 16-25; therefore, any individual in column three is duplicated in column four.  By subtracting the number in column three from the number in column four, you can create an age class "19-25."
Something is wrong with these numbers.  The number in column 4 cannot be less than the number in column 3 because any individual in column three should be duplicated in column four.  For this record to be of the William C. THOMPSON who married Catherine BABB in 1819, we would have to accept that:

1)  the census-taker made one (or more) errors in recording the record,
2)  Catherine was only 14 or 15 when she married,
3)  the other males are not part of the nuclear family.

No. 1 is certainly true.  No. 2 could be true, although no permission slip granting an under-age marriage appears to exist.  No. 3 is certainly true with regard to the teenage males because William, the head-of-household, is too young to be the father of teenagers.  The youngest male could be a twin of Mary Ann who later died or is not a member of the nuclear family.

3.  Census Index:  U.S. Selected Counties, 1830 (Broderbund CD-315):  not found.  The William C. THOMPSON in Trigg Co. was the husband of Lucy DANIEL.
