Our subject is "Flanigan" in the 1840 census and "F.W." in the 1850 census.  From then on, he appears to have been called, "Trim."  Secondary sources call him "Trimigen," but his brother, Thomas Wesley, named a son, "Trimingham."  There's a line of Trimigan THOMPSONs in Robeson Co., NC, who are likely related to our subject.

Died - Mr. Trim Thompson died at his home on Bear Creek, near Allsboro last Friday night.  He was one of the oldest citizens of the county and had a large circle of friends who were grieved to hear of his death.

Oct 4, 1894, was a Thursday, so Trim died on Friday, 28 Sep 1894.
