John THOMPSON, Sr. (II)
Sarah [ALLEN?]
Husband:  John THOMPSON, Sr. (II)
Birth:  ca. 1748/50, Lunenburg Co., VA
Death:  Feb/Mar/Apr 1829, Mecklenburg Co., VA
Father:  John THOMPSON (I)
Mother:  Winifred? __?__
Marriage:  ca. 1768, Mecklenburg Co., VA
Wife:  Sarah [ALLEN?]
Birth:  ca. 1750
Death:  aft. 1792, Mecklenburg Co., VA
Children — born in Mecklenburg Co., VA:
1.  James Mims THOMPSON, b. 1769
2.  John THOMPSON, Jr. (III), b. ca. 1774, said to be born NC?
3.  Elizabeth THOMPSON, b. ca. 1777
4.  Richard THOMPSON, b. ca. 1782
5.  Nancy THOMPSON, b. ca. 1785
6.  Edward THOMPSON, b. ca. 1792
7.  Joel THOMPSON, b. 1765-1794

The John Thompson who is married to Elizabeth Spencer — and who is presumed to be the father of Spencer Thompson, the grandson mentioned in the will of the above John Thompson, Sr. — was, according to the 1850 census, born in NC.  It does not appear that John Senior ever left Virginia, so either this is the "wrong" John Thompson "Jr." or the census taker made a mistake.

I have no proof that Joel is their son; the evidence is entirely circumstantial.

The IT guys on the big iron hated the Personal Computer because it gave users freedom and power; now they've conned you into being back under their control.
