Hiram THOMPSON
Ms. __?__ Elizabeth DALE |
UPDATE: In looking at this page,
now, some nine or ten years after I first created it, I find myself wondering
on what basis I thought to connect either Peter or Cynthia to our subject,
even tentatively. I must have had a reason, or I wouldn't have done
it, but I failed to include the reason among the sources. Mea culpa
— and caveat emptor!
Possible (minor) reasons I can see from the page: 1) Peter and Hiram both had sons named Thomas at a time and place when this name was rare among THOMPSONs. 2) Both Thomas, s/o Peter, and Hiram lived in Monroe Co., MO, in the 1830s and '40s. 3) Both Thomas, s/o Peter, and Hiram named sons, Allen, at a time when that name was uncommon. |
Husband: Hiram THOMPSON
Birth: 1792/3, TN Death: 1863, Jasper Co., MO (a civilian killed during the Civil War by Federal troups, 10 miles from his home in Jasper Co., MO) Occupation: farmer Father may be: Peter THOMPSON |
Marriage-1: |
Wife-1: Ms. __?__ |
Marriage-2: 2 Jun 1822, Ralls Co., MO |
Wife-2: Elizabeth DALE / DAILE
Birth: 1803/4, TN Death: aft. 1860 census Occupation: homemaker Father: John DALE Mother: Nancy E. PARRIS, b. 1780/1, SC; m2. Mr. BENHAM |
Child with Wife-1: |
1. (Daughter A) THOMPSON, b, 1815/6 — may be Cyntha/Cynthia
THOMPSON, b. 1816, KY
I have no proof this daughter is Cynthia (THOMPSON) WOODSON, the evidence is entirely circumstantial, but she is the right age in the right place at the right time with the right surname, and she named a son, Hiram T. WOODSON. |
Children with Elizabeth DALE: |

— born in MO, either Monroe or Jasper Co.:
"Talitha" and "Talithacumi" are scriptural words turned into names, from the phrase, "Talitha cumi," meaning "damsel arise" (Mark 5:41); Talitha it is not a nickname for "Tabitha," which is Aramaic/Hebrew for "gazelle." "Telitha" is a misspelling. |

Everything I have is online at this web site. I have no further information, so please don't write asking me if I do.
On the other hand, if you feel I've made an error, please don't hesitate to notify me, but in which case, There are over 18,000 pages on this web site, and I simply don't remember every page, much less every person on every page. |
