Herman Strube, aged 85, a resident of the town of Herman, passed away at his farm home last Wednesday as the result of infirmities of old age.

The deceased was born September 10, 1853, in the town of Herman.  He was united in marriage July 5, 1873 to Miss Mary Scherer of the town of Rhine.  The couple settled on the farm homestead where Mr. Strube died.  His wife preceded him in death 14 years ago.

A son, Arthur; two daughters, Mrs. Frank {Lillian} Barts and Mrs. Felix Sonnemann, all of the town of Herman; 13 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and three great-great—grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services took place at 1:15 p. m. Saturday from the C.J. Meizelwitz Funeral Home, and at 2 o’clock services were held at the Trinity Lutheran church in the town of Herman.  The Rev. Walter Kitzerow conducted the services, and burial was made in the adjoining church cemetery.
