Ophelia is called "daughter" in the 1920 and 1930 censuses, but she was not in our subject's household in the 1910 census.  Was she adopted?  Another oddity here is that she appears in the SSDI under surname STROUP.  Why did she revert to her "maiden" name (if, indeed, it was her true maiden name)?  Or did Ophelia marry second to a STROUP?  If she was not blood kin to begin with, there would have been no inhibition to marrying a STROUP cousin (or even a step-brother).

Several of the ages were overwritted; I can't tell which is the original entry and which is the correction.  Where did "Obbelia" come from?  She was not in the household in 1910.  Was she adopted?  Or is she a child from a prior marriage?  I tried finding Ophelia in the 1910 census, without obvious success.
