Jacob is enumerated, "John," in the 1850 census.  Was this enumerator error, or is his full name really "John Jacob Ulysses STROUP"?

In Carey Daniel's obituary, it states he outlived his four brothers and two sisters.

Clark County is some distance from Grant County, so I would not immediately suspect this is our subject's son.  However, I checked the 1900 and 1920 censuses, and I do not find another Charles STROUP this age in Indiana.  If there were a genealogical connection to the GILTNER family, one might easily understand why he would be so far away, but I don't see one, nor is one indicated in the record.  This is not Charles's "home farm," so he should have been enumerated as "working out."
