Over and above being faded, blurred, and generally hard to read, this is one of those records where the imbeciles at NARA scribbled numbers over the given names of the heads-of-households, so you can't read them.  Ancestry.com has him indexed "George W Hou Stroup"; Genealogy.com has him indexed "George H. STROUP."  His tombstone reads, "George M. Stroup," so without compelling evidence to the contrary, I'm leaving it at that.

7.  Zion Lutheran and Reformed Churchyard, Blain, Jackson Twp., Perry County, Pennsylvania (online in the Perry County USGenWeb Archives; submitted by Cathy Wentz-Eisenstadt):
STROUP, George M. May 17, 1846 Nov 19, 1916
wf. Mary E. Martin Jul 19, 1851 Jun 4, 1920
The submitter did not differentiate between what was on the stones and what she added, so we still lack good, verbatim tombstone readings.

8.  Harry Harrison Hain.  1929.  History of Perry County, Pennsylvania.  Hain-Moore Co., Harrisburg, PA (online at HeritageQuest at Genealogy.com):
p. 849 STROUP, F. NEFF.  F. Neff Stroup was born near Blain, in 1884, the son of George M. and Mary Ellen (Martin) Stroup...

9.  WorldConnect / Ancestry World Trees (online at RootsWeb.com/Ancestry.com).  Files there give George's middle name as "Martin," but this seems an unlikely coincidence, and I've yet to find a record clearly showing his full name.
