It's possible Charles was born in Kansas, but it's extremely unlikely that his parents were.  Where did the enumerator get "4/5"?  If the mother is 3/4, the children are 3/8.  But see next source, which, given our math-impaired enumerator here, is more likely correct.

This page image was blurry and very hard to read, so my extraction may not be totally accurate, but it's probably close.  This was a special Indian Population schedule including additional columns, but it is so hard to read I gave up.  Basically the rest of the schedule shows that Charles and his parents are White, while Clara has a White father and (part) Cherokee mother.  Clara's racial mix is given as 1/16 Indian and 15/16 White, while her children's mix is given as 1/32 Indian and 31/32 White.  In other words, one of Clara's sixteen GG-grandparents was a Cherokee.

HOLDS TWO FOR MURDER. Are Accused of the Murder of Roy Crutchfield, a Farmer. Claremore, Ok., May 26.— Judge E. J. Humphrey has rendered his decision in the Crutchfield murder case.  Earl Stroup and Charles Olmstead were held and will be tried in the district court on the charge of murder.  Roy and Jessie Stroup, who were held for investigation, were discharged. Roy Crutchfield, a farmer living near Inola, was held up, robbed of $100 and killed while returning home late at night.
