1. Marriage Record: 2. 1830 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com): Adam/Andrew not found, and I really looked, including a page-by-page search of Ferguson Twp., Centre Co., PA (location of his kin in 1820). By 1830, Andrew's kin had moved to Venango County, and we find them in the census there. However, our subject's son, Adam, states in his Civil War pension application that he was born in Centre Co., PA, in September of 1836. As a young married couple, it's possible they were living with some other family, possibly Hannah's parents, so Andrew does not show up as head-of-household. It's also possible young Adam was mistaken about where he was born, but whether he was or not, the important factor is that his belief he was born there ties this STROUP family in Venango County to the STROUPs in Centre County. 3. 1840 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image #5-6 of 10; extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤•
