Absalom B. STROUP
Naomi K. BEAVERT
Husband:  Absalom B. STROUP
Birth:  Dec 1822/3 (not 1818), Jackson, Montgomery Co., OH
Death:  Feb 1904, OR
Occupations:  peddlar, blacksmith, farmer
Father:  George STROUP
Mother:  Catharine __?__
Marriage:  3 Jul 1875, Clackamas Co., OR
Wife:  Naomi / Neoma / Leoma / Noma K. BEAVERT / BEVART
Birth:  ca. 1855, OR
Death:  1886-1890
Father:  John BEAVERT, b. 2 Feb 1804, SC or NC; d. 20 Jun 1890, AR(?)
Mother:  Jane Montgomery WESTON or Jane (MONTGOMERY) WESTON, b. 1824/5, SC or NC

John BEAVERT was age 76 in the 1880 census of Oregon; I find it implausible that he returned to Arkansas and died there.
It's unclear whether Montgomery was Jane's middle name or maiden name and, thus, whether WESTON was the surname of a former husband; she was John's second wife.

Children — born in Clackamas Co., OR:
1.  Edward A. STROUP, b. Feb 1876
2.  John Benjamin STROUP, b. 1877/8
3.  Catherine A. STROUP, b. Jul 1879
4.  Elmer N. STROUP, b. Dec 1885

Why the connection to Tennessee?  Are they confusing De Kalb Co., TN, with De Kalb Co., IN?  But if so, why De Kalb County?  They lived in Shelby County.

He should be age 36/37.  For a "peddler," he was certainly well off.
