At this point, Martin was presumably working in his brother's factory, the Straube Piano Company in Downers Grove.

At this point, Martin's brother has sold the Straube Piano Company, which has moved to Hammond, IN.  Martin may be working for the Oregon Piano Factory, a.k.a., Schiller Piano Factory, in Oregon City.

Martin's mother was born in Wuerttemberg, based on her own 1870 census record.  It appears Martin has changed jobs, but I have yet to find the name of a piano factory in Rochelle at that time.
