I have no idea what was going on with William's birthplace, but he gives his birthplace, in his own records, as California, which makes much more sense.

Either Catharine or the enumerator misunderstood the use of columns 11 and 12.  These should give the woman's total number of children birthed and total number of children surviving, respectively.  We know Catharine had at least two children, so the numbers should have been at least 2 and 1, respectively.  I can't read column 18.  Again, William's birthplace appears to be incorrect.
