Valentine STRAUB
Walburg GRATHWOHL |
Husband: Valentine STRAUB
Birth: Feb 1832, Wuerttemberg or Ohio Death: 1 May 1917, Hamilton, Butler Co., OH Occupation: farmer Father: Thaddaeus STRAUB Mother: Prisca/Brisca RIESTER As it stands, Valentine's birthplace is somewhat uncertain. In the 1860 census, it shows Wuerttemberg, but in the 1850, 1870, 1880, and 1900 censuses it shows Ohio. I would presume the 1860 census was the one in error, except that his brother Jacob's bio says the family came to America in 1836 which, if true, means Valentine had to have been born in Europe. As Valentine would have been only four years old in 1836, he would understandably have had no memories of Germany, and it's common for people who were moved as toddlers to mistakenly believe the place where they grew up is where they were born. |

Everything I have is online at this web site. I have no further information, so please don't write asking me if I do.
On the other hand, if you feel I've made an error, please don't hesitate to notify me, but in which case, There are over 18,000 pages on this web site, and I simply don't remember every page, much less every person on every page. |
