Groom: STRAUB, Mathias
Groom Parents: Not listed
Bride: FOS, Wilhelmina (Non-Catholic)
Bride Parents: Not listed
Witnesses: Conrad SCHÜTTE [Schuette] & Georg Straub
Date: 6 Jun 1868
To save space, the father's surnames were omitted (unless different from the child's).
Note: The original records were in Latin and were translated to German equivalents by the compiler, something that should not have been done.  Records should always be transcribed verbatim.  An example given by the compiler demonstrates the reason:  "Lena" is the pet form of Magdalena, not Carolina.  So if, as indicated, the compiler translated Lena to Carolina, the database includes that and an untold number of other mis-leading errors.

All of the children are by Mathias's first wife, Mary BERTRAND.  Herman and Julius were certainly born in Missouri, and the rest probably were, too.  Chalres VOGES may be Minna's child from a former marriage.

4.  1880 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image # 36 of 59):  Columbia, Monroe Co., IL, Roll T9_237, p. 18D, PN 35, SD 8, ED 64, enumerated 1 Jun 1880, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1880 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤

George SCHMIDT is too young to be Charley's father, so has George adopted Charley VOGEL?  Emila was born before George & Mina were married; and, as there's no sign of a prior marriage for George, Emila is presumably our Mathias's last child.  Either that or Emila is Amalia and the enumerator has got her age waaaay off.  Or… George's age is off, he did have a prior marriage (somewhere else), and Charley and Emila are George's children!
