Martin STRAUB
Margaretha STOERZBACH |
NOTICE: a descendant of our subject, through is grandson, Antonius, is participating in the STRAUB Y-chromosome DNA Surname Project. This descendant is a tight genetic match with descendants of Antonius's brother, Johann Pieter STRAUB (1695-1760s), the 1733 immigrant to Philadelphia. Johann Pieter (a.k.a., Peter STROUP) is the second earliest known STRAUB immigrant to the United States — the earliest known immigrant was Johannes STRAUB (a.k.a., John STROPE) to New York in 1710, whom DNA test results show is not related — but Peter is the one who has, by far, the most known descendants of any STRAUB immigrant to the U.S. We are very much interested in knowing whether Peter (and his sons, Jacob and Peter) are the only members of Martin's extended family to emigrate to the U.S. If you are working on STRAUB genealogy in Germany and find evidence that any of your family members emigrated, please let us know and please consider having a male of the family DNA tested. |

Everything I have is online at this web site. I have no further information, so please don't write asking me if I do.
On the other hand, if you feel I've made an error, please don't hesitate to notify me, but in which case, There are over 18,000 pages on this web site, and I simply don't remember every page, much less every person on every page. |
