Andreas STRAUB
Birth:  bef. 1735, probably Germany

Migration:  1751, Rotterdam to Cowes to Philadelphia on the Anderson
Keywords for search engines:  genealogy; FRG, Deutschland; USA, US, United States, Pennsylvania

Sources (n.b., only males 16 years of age or older were included on these passage lists):

1.  Israel Daniel Rupp.  1876.  A Collection of upwards of Thirty Thousand Names of German, Swiss, Dutch, French, and Other Immigrants in Pennsylvania from 1727 to 1776... Leary, Stuart, & Co., Philadelphia, PA (reprinted 1965/75 by Genealogical Publ. Co., Baltimore, MD; Broderbund CD-267).
p. 246 Aug. 26, 1751.  Ship Anderson, Hugh Campbell, Master, from Rotterdam, last from Cowes,--fifty Roman Catholics.--236 passengers...
Andreas should be on this list, but he's not.  However, Hans STRAUB is.

2.  William Henry Egle.  1890.  Names of Foreigners Who Took the Oath of Allegiance to the Province and State of Pennsylvania, 1727-1775, with the Foreign Arrivals, 1786-1808.  Pennsylvania Archives, Vol. XVII, 2nd Ser., Harrisburg, PA (reprinted 1967/94, Genealogical Publ. Co., Baltimore, MD; Broderbund CD-267).  On p. 328:
p. 328 List of Foreigners Imported in the Ship Anderson, Hugh Campbell, Master, from Rotterdam, last from Cowes.  Qualified Aug. 25, 1751...
...Georg Berg, Andreas Straud, Jacob Walter...
Among the other passengers was a Hans STRAUB

3.  Ralph Beaver Strassburger.  1934.  Pennsylvania German Pioneers: a Publication of the Original Lists of Arrivals in the Port of Philadelphia, from 1727 to 1808.  Pennsylvania German Society, Norristown, PA (reprinted 1966/92 Genealogical Publ Co., Baltimore, MD; Broderbund CD-267).
p. 450 [List 161 C]  At the Court House at Philadelphia, Tuesday, ye 25th August 1751.
Present:  The Worshipful William Plumsted, Esqr, Mayor of Philadelphia.
The Foreigners whose names are underwritten, imported in the Ship Anderson, Hugh Campbell, Master from Rotterdam & last from Cowes, did this day take and subscribe the usual & foregoing Qualifications.  236 Freights. No 100. 50 Roman Catholics. Messrs Stedman...
p. 451 ...Gerg Bewer | Andres Straub | Jacob Walder...
Strassburger has Hans STRAUB on another ship (viz., the Billander, arriving 5 Sep 1751), but the adjacent names are the same as on the Anderson list.  There is some kind of mixup in the lists of these two ships.  For now, it's "two out of three," and I'm tentatively accepting that they both arrived on the Anderson
