Straub has made music, vocal and instrumental, his life’s work.  He has conducted musical conventions for many years and has published a dozen or more musical books, including several Sunday-school books which are extensively used.  Those best known are “Morning Light" and “Living Fountain,” for Sabbath-schools.  He has also published “Convention, Choir and Anthem Treasures” for choir purposes and also some sheet music.  He founded “Song Friend,” a musical periodical now in the sixth volume, which he still conducts in connection with general music publishing in Chicago.  His son, Arthur M., is a pianist of promise.  He is now teaching and studying music...
