Michael STRAUB
Christian __?__
Laura GRAEVE
Husband:  Michael STRAUB
Birth:  1827/29, Germany or France
Death:  1870-80, presumably in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH
Occupation:  cooper, constable

When someone shifts between Germany and France as their birthplace, it's very likely they are from Alsace-Lorraine (an ethic German enclave in France, which was at times ruled by Germany and was the origin of many STRAUBs in the United States).

Marriage-1:
Wife-1:  Christian __?__
Birth:  1835/6, Bavaria
Occupation:  homemaker

We don't know for certain whether Christian died or whether she and Michael were divorced.  I don't find her in 1870 as Christian STRAUB, but she could have re-married.  We also don't find Christian's daughter, Anna, at least not as Anna STRAUB, but that doesn't necessarily mean Anna died, either.  Christian and Michael may also have had another a child or two, after Anna, before splitting up.

Marriage-2
Wife-2:  Laura GRAEVE
Birth:  10 Dec 1830, Prussia
Death:  30 Dec 1914, Dayton, Campbell Co., KY
Disposition:  buried 2 Jan 1915, Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH
Migration:  1851, to U.S.
Occupation:  homemaker, tailoress
Other Spouse:  m1. Friederich BRANDT
Parents:  born in Prussia
Child with Christian:
1.  Anna F. STRAUB, b. 1858/9, Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH
Adopted Children from Laura's first marriage — born in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH:
2.  Matilda BRANDT - STRAUB, b. 1958/9, OH
3.  Elizabeth "Lizzie" BRANDT - STRAUB, b. 1860/1, OH
Children with Laura GRAEVE — born in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH:
4.  Charles STRAUB, b. 1866/7
5.  Josephine / Sophia "Sophie" STRAUB, b. Nov 1869 or Jan 1870

It's not certain this Michael STRAUB is our subject, but it's highly likely given his location and the fact that no other Michael STRAUB appears in Ohio in 1860 (or 1870 or 1840).

They are six out of 49 people under just one set of dwelling/family numbers.  Obviously, this is some kind of multi-family dwelling, presumably an apartment building, but there is no way to tell, for certain, where one family leaves off and the next begins.  The above is my best deduction, and it jibes with what we know from other records.

It's hard to figure this record, but based on 1860 and 1870, it appears the enumerator in 1880 has screwed up this record.
