2.  1870 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  There is an unmarried Thos. SMITH (æ 28, b. VA; Black) living in St. Stephen's Parish, Charleston Co., SC (p. 462B).  I find his occupation indecipherable, but he's living with another young man engaged in the same occupation.  There is also a Thomas SMITH (æ 32, b. VA; Black; Laborer) living in Charleston, Charleston Co., SC (p. 324A), with the MOINAHAN? family.  If neither of these is our subject, then I can't account for him.  Can't find Anna Catherine, at all, and I really looked.

The IT guys on the big iron hated the Personal Computer because it gave users freedom and power; now they've conned you into being back under their control.
