Mary Allender, with Thomas and Joseph Allender; est. adm. on 25 March 1749, by which date one of his ch. had d.; bond posted Aug. 1740 by Thomas and Joseph Allender to pay orphans of dec. Joshua: William, Mary, and Nicholas; had iss.: WILLIAM; MARY (poss. the Mary who m. Peter Body on 25 Aug. 1757); JOSHUA, d. by March 1749; NICHOLAS, over 14 in Nov. 1759 when he chose Thomas Sligh as his guardian (5; 11; 37:6, 171; 44; 131).
p. 586 SLIGH, THOMAS (1), was in Balto. Co. by 12 Dec. 1728 when he wit. the will of Jonas Bowen; d. there by 11 Aug. 1774; m. Sophia Wilkinson on 17 April 1734; she was a dau. of William and Tamar (Love) Wilkinson; on 10 Sept. 1737 he purch. part of Corbin's Rest from Edward and Jane Corbin; in 1750 owned many tracts including 100 a. Sophia's Garden, 30 a Find Me Out, 440 a. Privilege, 50 a. Michael's Beginning and 40 a. John's Beginning; d. leaving a will, 27 July 1774 - 11 Aug. 1774, naming a Mrs. Ann Flannigan and a granddau. Elizabeth Sligh; Thomas and Sophia had at least one ch.: WILLIAM, b. 9 Jan. 1734/5 (75:13; 83:447; 112:293; 133:40, 152; 153:29).

SLIGH, WILLIAM (2), s. of Thomas (1), and Sophia, was b. 9 Jan. 1734/5; d. in Annapolis in March 1757, of the small-pox; was age 22, and served as Clerk of the City and Provincial Court; left a widow and one ch.: had iss.: ELIZABETH (133:40; 262:168).
