Mr. SELLERS
Elizabeth STROUP
Partner:  Mr. SELLERS
Presumed descendant of George SELLERS, who moved from PA to Lincoln [now Gaston] Co., NC, ca. 1800.
Liaison:
Subject:  Elizabeth "Lizzy / Lizzie" STROUP
Birth:  10 Dec 1851, Gaston Co., NC
Death:  24 Jul 1910, Gaston Co., NC
Occupation:  homemaker, farm laborer
Other Partners:  identity(ies) unknown
Father:  Abner Albert STROUP
Mother:  Lydia BAKER
Child — born in Cherryville Twp., Gaston Co., NC:
1.  Lawson Sidney STROUP I, b. Oct 1879? or 27 Dec 1879?

• Lawson does not appear in the 1880 census with Elizabeth, so was he really born in 1879?
• DNA testing of a patrilineal descendant of Lawson Sidney has shown him to be a SELLERS, related to the George SELLERS linked above, so it's a virtual certainty that Lawson was fathered by one of the males in the SELLERS households surrounding Elizabeth in the 1880 census.
.  Family Finder (a-DNA) testing of this same individual supports that Elizabeth is one of the Gaston Co., NC, STROUPs.

Other children of Elizabeth STROUP, father unknown:
2.  Mary Ellen STROUP, b. Jan 1884 or 1 Oct 1881
3.  [Charles] Charley / Charlie Melvin STROUP, b. Oct 1886 or 14 May 1884
4.  [Verna] Vernie Jane STROUP, b. Sep 1887 or 13 Jan 1888; d. 7 Aug 1964

Y-DNA testing of a patrilineal descendant of Charles Melvin could determine at least his father's surname.  Unfortunately, this avenue is not open to Elizabeth's daughters.

Grandchild:
.  [Caroline] "Carry / Carrie" STROUP, b. May 1891, NC
