William was two years old in the 1860 census, so there is no way he was born in Oct 1860.  Also , he was born in Michigan, and his parents were born in Ohio.  Mary's mother was also born in Ohio, not Pennsylvania.  Either Dora's middle initial is wrong here, or it was wrong on her marriage record.  Her birthdate is plausible.

The enumerator had written in "Daughter," then added "Grand."  The thing is William & Mary had only one child, a daughter who married an EVANS, so how could they possibly have a granddaughter surnamed, "Straub."  Or is she John's granddaughter?  The problem with that is that John had no sons.
