One would have pegged Elias as John's brother, but danged if I can find him in earlier censuses — anywhere.  Is he really Elias?  Or really SCHANTZENBACH?  If Elias really is John's brother, then John cannot be a son of Jacob SCHANTZENBACK because there is no room for Elias in the early censuses of Jacob's household, though there is room for John.

4.  Burial Records of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Congregation, Lehigh Co., Penna., 1758-1902 (online in the USGenWeb archives).
Burial Record of Zions Lutheran Cemetery at Old Zionsville, PA.  This list was compiled in 1902 and 1903 and lists the marked graves of 803 burials from 1758 when the church was founded on this site to 1902.  There were also 393 unmarked graves - a total of 1223.  These burials were on the north and later on the south side of the present church.  This listing was made by Rev. I.B. Ritter and these young men: Homer E. Shimer, Eli C. Marsteller, Harry B. Fogel, Harry W. Shimer, Charles W. Hunsberger...
SCHANTZENBACH, Johannes -----------------Born, Sep. 01, 1812 --- Died, Jan. 12, 1871
SCHANTZENBACH, Caroline -----------------Born, Jan. 29, 1823 --- Died, May  31, 1864
Johannes appears to be our subject, and Caroline appears to be the unmarried daughter of Jacob SCHANTZENBACH; these are the only SCHANTZENBACHs on this list.
