| NOTICE: descendants of our subject are participating in the ROSE DNA Project and belong to Group K1 of the project. Group K1 is genetically close to Group K: their modal haplotypes differ by only one mutation. As the Group K haplotype is probably ancestral to the Group K1 haplotype, our subject's father is likely to be found in Group K. In fact, Robert ROSE of Group K is said to be our subject's father. The problem is, there is nothing in their 37-marker haplotypes to favor their connection. If the Group K and Group K1 ROSEs would upgrade to 67 markers, we might find a mutation that uniquely connects John David to Robert — and who knows who else to each other! |
