Family lore said to have been preserved by Carrie NELSON, daughter of Gabriel ROBINSON, who is now 80 years old.  Carrie names cousins Connie JONES (daughter of Thomas ROBINSON, s/o Gabriel's brother, Fraser ROBINSON) and Harolyn SIAU.  Carrie states that Gabriel and Fraser's mother died when they were young and that their father remarried.  Family was friends with white man, Frank NESMTH (n.b., we find Fraser living with NESMITH in the 1900 census, q.v.).

Carrie's lack of mention of Gabriel's siblings, Martha and Stephen, suggests the latter may have died young.
