Based on the 1900 census, Robert immigrated in 1879 and Janet immigrated in 1880, which is consistent with a later marriage in Texas and which raises the question of whether Janet was actually from Glasgow, which may have been an assumption.  Also based on the 1900 census, all of Robert & Janet's children were born in Texas; that is, their eldest child was not born in Scotland as shown in the IGI.
