William H. RAY
Jane __?__
Husband:  William H. RAY
Birth:  1794/5, SC
Death:  aft. 1880 census, probably in Pickens Co., GA
Occupation:  farmer

Many secondary sources give him middle name, "Houston," but the only primary records I've found, so far, for "William Houston RAY" are of a handful of men all way too young to be our subject.

Marriage:
Wife:  Jane "Jencie" [VENCEY?]
Birth:  1799/1800, SC
Death apparently:  1860-70, Pickens Co., GA
Occupation:  homemaker

"Jencie" is not her given name, it's a spelling variation of "Jincy," a standard nickname for "Jane."  I have yet to find any documentation for her maiden name, which secondary sources show as VENCEY, but is "Vencey" just a mis-reading of "Jencey"?

Children — born in SC:
1.  Sanford V. RAY, b. 1824/5
2.  Starling RAY, b. 1826/7
3.  Tandy RAY, b. 1830-32
