7.  1910 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  can't find our subject, not with certainty.  There is a widowed Waitsell PRESTWOOD (æ 65, b. NC/NC/NC; cotton mill inspector) living in a boarding house in Lenoir Twp., Caldwell Co., NC (p. 72A); it's not unusual for data to be in error for boarders because the informant is usually the landlord, so this may be our subject.  Walter PRESTWOOD (æ 24, b. SC/NC/SC) is living in Lovelady Twp., Caldwell Co., NC (p. 140A), with his wife, Eva (æ 27, b. NC/NC/NC), plus one son and two in-laws.

8.  1920 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  can't find our subject.  Walter PRESTWOOD (æ 34, b. NC/NC/NC) is living in Granite Falls Town, Lovelady Twp., Caldwell Co., NC (p. 143A), with his wife, Eva (æ 37, b. NC/NC/NC), plus two sons.

Is Catherine's surname informant error?  Or did she remarry to a CRUMP after the death of Waitsell's father?  Or is she really a CRUMP, meaning secondary sources have mis-identified her?
