1 male 20-29 1810-1820 = Hiram (b. 1818)
1 female 5-9 1830-1835 = Mary (b. 1839/40)
1 female 20-29 1810-1820 = Susanna (b. 1822)

Mary and Susanna are in the wrong age classes, but surely these are our subjects.

In both instances, the vowel in their surname is half-way between an "a" and an "o"; it could be either.  Column 10 means "married within the year," but you can't have just the wife or just the husband married within the year, it's both or nothing!  Not to mention that we know Hiram and Susanna were married in 1839.  This census-taker had some sort of misconception about the purpose of Column 10 because he appears to have misused it, one way or another, througout his enumeration.

Hiram is not in the index, and the reason is undoubtedly the way his name was entered on the schedule, which was as I have shown.
