Children — born in Sullivan Co., IN: |
Note that our subjects have followed the tradition of naming their
children after their parents. The first son and daughter are named
for the wife's parents; the second son and daughter are named for the husband's
parents. At least one other, related Sullivan County family did the
same: John
& Sarah (TRIMBLE) WILLIS.
1. William Jefferson PIRTLE, b. 1857/8
I'm not entiely convinced Laura and James are Elizabeth's children, not just because of her age, but because of the 14/15-year gap between Mary and Laura. Children born late in the life of a couple are very often the illegitimate children of an unwed daughter, whose indiscretion is being covered up by the parents claiming the offspring as their own. |

Everything I have is online at this web site. I have no further information, so please don't write asking me if I do.
On the other hand, if you feel I've made an error, please don't hesitate to notify me, but in which case, There are over 18,000 pages on this web site, and I simply don't remember every page, much less every person on every page. |
