1.  Marriage Record:

2.  1850 U.S. Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  Willis Walker isn't born, yet.  His parents, William R. PIERCE (æ 24, b. TN) & Catharine (æ 23, b. TN), plus an older sister are living in Roane Co., TN (p. 432A).

3.  1860 U.S. Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  can't find the PIERCE family, and I really looked.

4.  1870 U.S. Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  Willis W. PIERCE (æ 19, b. TN) is living in Roane Co., TN (p. 513B), with his widowed mother, Catherine PIERCE (æ 43, b. TN), plus siblings, including Rolly A. (æ 6, b. TN).

5.  1880 U.S. Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image#19-20 of 21):  Civil Dist. 16, Roane Co., TN, Roll, pp. 407C-407D, PN 19-20, SD 1, ED 228, enumerated 19-21 Jun 1880, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1880 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):

It's possible the elder Willis is divorced or widowed and the enumerator simply erred by making him "single."  Lucinda DAVIS is the daughter of Reuben A. & Missouri Ann (PIERCE) DAVIS.

6.  1890 U.S. Census:  the 1890 Census Population Schedules were destroyed.
