2.  1850 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  Everett was enumerated twice, first in September with both parents in Monroe Co., MS, then second in December in New Orleans, LA, with his mother (q.v.).

3.  1860 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  can't find Everett, or his parents and siblings, or his uncle, James CROCKER.  Seems like an area was skipped or a chunk of the census has been lost.

Some have assumed that James WEST is part of our subject's household; he is not.  This record is at the botttom of the page, and there's a WEST family at the top of the page with a similar bold × next to it.  The enumerator appears to have accidentally left James out of his family and is indicating he be inserted above.  The real issue here is the name and age of Everett's wife.  Is this, too, simply enumerator error?
