Charles Cotesworth PINCKNEY (1746-1825) and his first cousin (once removed), Charles PINCKNEY (1757-1824), were southern politicians of considerable note (e.g., both signed the U.S. Constitution).  Many a southern boy was named Pinckney, presumable in honor of one or both of them; however, this is the first female I've seen named "Pinckney."  So… Should it have been "Pinkey"?  Or was the child actualy male?
