2.  1850 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  Nancy Ann MATNEY (æ 15, b. IN) is living in Sugar Loaf Twp., Carroll Co., AR, with her widowed mother, Nancy Ann (DAVID) MATNEY, plus siblings (q.v.).

3.  1860 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image #16 of 17):  Norma P.O., Finley Twp., Webster Co., MO, Roll M653_660, p. 846, PN 148, 971/967, enumerated 24 Aug 1860, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1860 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):

Nancy A    " 63 F         Tenn
Nancy A Matney 24 F         Ind
William    "  5 M         Mo
Mahulda    "  1 F         "
William and Mahulda appear to be the younger Nancy's illegitimate children, although secondary sources show them as the children of William Thomas SMITH.

4.  1870 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image #5 of 12):  Arno P.O., Boon Twp., Douglas Co., MO, Roll M593_774, p. 642A, PN 5, 33/33, enumerated 21 Jul 1870, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1870 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):

5.  1880 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image #8 of 14):  Vanburen Twp., Wright Co., MO, Roll T9_741, p. 487D, PN 26, SD 4, ED 139, enumerated 15 Jun 1880, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1880 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):

Andrew (should be Anderson) is James's son from his prior marriage to Anna HOLLOWAY, while Hulda and George are Nancy's children from her prior relationships/marriages.  Given the ordering of the children, I would take Milly as the one child of James & Nancy, except that James & Nancy are said to have married in 1878, which means Milly must be another child of James & Anna.

6.  1890 Census:  the 1890 Census Population Schedules were destroyed.

7.  1900 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  Widow Nancy A. WILLSON (æ 65, b. Oct 1834, IL/IN/IN; children 8/2 — wow, that's rough) is living in Richland Twp., Ozark Co., MO (Roll 880, p. 128A), with Uriah MATNEY (æ 35, b. Oct 1864, MO) and his family.  Nancy's relationship is given as "boarder"; however, she must be related to Uriah, but I don't know the connection.
