1.  Family Group Sheets compiled by Betty Ann (Matthiesen) Cogliati and her grandmother, Maude Irene (Thompson) Rose.  It is oral family history that Christine came to America via the route over the Panamanian Isthmus and that her ship was wrecked off the Pacific coast of Mexico.  She is said to have lost all her belongings, but survived (obviously) and made it to Oakland, CA.

Matthiesen's Funeral To Be Held Tomorrow
  Funeral services for Andrew Matthiesen, resident of Oakland for 40 years, who died Thursday night, will be held tomorrow at Odd Fellows' hall, Eleventh and Franklin streets, at 2:30 p.m.
   Matthiesen was engaged in the tailoring business in Oakland for 35 years, his place of business being at 403 Twelfth street.  He was a member of the Odd Fellows and the Woodmen of the World.
   His death occurred at his home, 2122 Seventh avenue, East Oakland.  He had been ill for a year from cancer.  He was a native of Denmark and 53 years old.  On his arrival in America he came directly to Oakland.  He is survived by his widow and his son, Art, a local haberdasher.

Rask, a member of Fountain Lodge, No. 401, I.O.O.F., and Oakland Camp, No. 94, W.O.W., a native of Denmark, aged 53 years.
   Friends are invited to attend the funeral service Monday, Aug. 22, at 2:30 p.m. from I.O.O.F. Temple, 11th and Franklin sts.  Remains at the residence parlors of Andker & Co., 1445 5th ave., cor. East 15th st.  Officers and members of Fountain Lodge No. 410 are requested to attend.
