13.  Lovejoy Inez "Lovey / Lovie" LOW, b. 20 Jul 1885, Powder Valley, OR; d. 16 Apr 1970; m. Winfred CARPENTER

In the 1920 census (of Gooding Twp., Gooding Co., ID), Lovie gives her birthplace as Oregon.  Is there any indication that William & Elizabeth ever moved to Oregon, then back to Idaho?  In the same census, Lovie gives the birthplaces of her parents as Illinois, which, of course, is incorrect.  Aren't all three birthplaces incorrect?  (Idaho Territory was formed from Oregon Territory long before Lovie was born, so that is not the reason she would give her birthplace as Oregon.)

At first glance, it appears this record could not possibly be our subjects because so many data are wrong.  Then you realize the coincidence of names is such that it could be no one else but our subjects.  It also seems odd that a man skilled at cabinet making would revert to being a day laborer.  I have no answer for the discrepancies, but this is the only William LOW/LOWE in Canyon Co., ID, except for our subjects' son, William M. LOW, in Payette Pct.

William Milton Low... when he was 95 he could light a wooden match with a B.B. gun at 10 yards.
