Amos D. HOLLISTER
Arian CORBIN
Husband:  Amos D. HOLLISTER
Birth:  24 Feb 1801, Burlington, Otsego Co., NY
Death:  20 Oct 1865, Washington, DC
Occupation:  clergyman, clerk
Father:  Amos HOLLISTER (1775-1855)
Mother:  Tryphena DENZIMORE (1784-1861)
Marriage:  10 Nov 1841
A marriage in 1841 would be a late first marriage for either of our subjects, so one would immediately suspect it was a second marriage for both.  The presence of three older children, born before 1841, in the 1850 census also supports a prior marriage for at least one of them.  The fact that the HOLLISTER genealogy (see Sources below) does not mention an earlier marriage or children for our subject, and it may be the demands placed on Amos by his education and training may explain why he married late.  The fact that we don't find our subject enumerated as head-of-household in the 1830 and 1840 censuses supports that he was not married at the time.  These circumstances suggest that the prior marriage was Arian's and that the older children are hers. Unfortunately, the lack of civil marriage records in New York state before 1881 makes substantiating her earlier marriage difficult, however, an earlier marriage for her is the most obvious explanation of the situation.

Could "Arian" be a contraction or nickname of "Mary Ann" that "stuck"?

Column 18 means "Idiotic," but it's Martha who's afflicted.  This looks like enumerator error, so I would not assume from this record that James DONION is idiotic.
