Both of William's parents were born in NY. Maria's father was born in VT, but her mother was born in NY. Charles is William's son from his prior marriage to Mary BEDFORD, who was born in NY. Ashley HORSINGTON is Maria's son from her prior marriage to our subject, making him William's stepson, who may or may not have been legally adopted. The birthplaces of Ashley's parents are reversed; his father was born in VT and his mother in NY; Ashley was probably born in IA, not WI.
