Virgil Horsington 3? M       NY
Flora Horsington 10/12 F       Wis
Gr??ne Horsington 24 M       NY
Flora is indexed as 10 years old, not 10 months.  I suspect Flora is Chloe (i.e., that her name here is enumerator error).  I can't place Greene HORSINGTON.  Listed next to L.D. HORSINGTON (æ 26, b. VT), et al.

2b.  1850 U.S. Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  Hosey HOSINGTON (æ 53, b. VT) & Chloe HOSINGTON (æ 50, b. NY) are living in the Town of Pinckney, Lewis Co., NY (p. 158B), with four of their children and two other apparent children in adjacent households.  All, but Hosea, born in NY.  Fannie is not among them.

4a.  1860 U.S. Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image #1-2 of 3):  Osage P.O., Richfield Twp., Mitchell Co., IA, Roll M653_336, pp. 144-145, PN 10-11, 82/75, enumerated 6 Jun 1860, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1860 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤•

Sylvia Hosington  8 F         Wisconsin

"B" appears to be the enumerator's mis-hearing of "V."  "Clougene" appears to be a gross misspelling of "Chloe Jane" on the part of the enumerator.  Note that we don't see "Flora" (I don't believe Flora exists).  Listed next to Fanny's brother-in-law, Jerome HOSINGTON (æ 34, b. VT) and family, et al.

Both of William's parents were born in NY.  Maria's father was born in VT, but her mother was born in NY.  Charles is William's son from his prior marriage to Mary BEDFORD, who was born in NY.  Ashley HORSINGTON is Maria's son from her prior marriage to our subject, making him William's stepson, who may or may not have been legally adopted.  The birthplaces of Ashley's parents are reversed; his father was born in VT and his mother in NY; Ashley was probably born in IA, not WI.
