PLEASE NOTE: Some secondary sources equate our subject with the Benjamin HINTON (1761-1801) who married Sarah HOPKINS in 1783 in Rockingham Co., VA. But the Benjamin who married Sarah HOPKINS is son of John HINTON, son of George HINTON, the immigrant to Pennsylvania, whose descendants followed a general migration path from PA to VA to OH. These are not the Maryland HINTONs who migrated to Kentucky.
