2.  1850 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image #106 of 292):  District No. 14, Cape Girardeau Co., MO, Roll M432_394, p. 393B, 745/756, enumerated 25 Sep 1850, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1850 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):
John Hill 66 M   Farmer 400 NC
Mary   " 75 F       "
Hugh W  " 27 M       "
Eliza     " 3_ F       "
Margaret C "  5 F       Mo
John Newton "  3 M       "
Alice Jane  "  1 F       "
Secondary sources show Eliza as Hugh's daughter, but this must be Hugh's wife, whose age was mistakenly give as "3," instead of "31.'  Even if you disagree that she's his wife, Eliza still can't be his daughter given her birthplace and age; and, in which case, you'd have to explain why she's listed immediately after Hugh, and not either before him or after Alice.  Enumerators do make mistakes, some of them in later transferring their field notes to the Population Schedules, and this appears to be one of those errors.  (Note that Mary' age is also an error.)

3.  1860 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image #113 of 210):  Greenville P.O., Bond Co., IL, Roll M653_156, p. 242, 858/858, enumerated 7 Jul 1860, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1860 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):
Hugh W Hill 38 M   Merchant 400 1000 NC
Eliza J   " 41 F         "
M C       " 15 F         Mo
John N    " 13 M         "
Alice     " 12 F         "
Catherine " 11 F         "
Augusta E "  2 F         "
Catherine should be age 8, not 11.  Listed next to Hugh's brother, James D. HILL.
