The children's records do not agree on Lucinda's maiden name (see FamilySearch.org).
  • Lorenzo's death certificate gives Lucinda's maiden name as BENNET.
  • Roxanna's marriage records give Lucinda's maiden name as BEMIS [or unreadable].
  • Fredrick's marriage records give Lucinda's maiden name variously as BEMIS, BEMISS, BEMUS, BERNESS, BERNIS, BERNUS, and BEMESS.
While the weight of evidence appears to lean towards BEMIS, I think it preferable to leave Lucinda's maiden name as unknown until her marriage record is found.
