10.  Anon.  Tuesday, 27 Mar 1928.  "Captain Randall, Former Resident Will Speak Here."  The Bridgeport Telegram (Bridgeport, CT), p. 15 (online at Newspapers.com):
CAPTAIN RANDALL, FORMER RESIDENT WILL SPEAK HERE

Master of Liner George Washington to Broadcast from Station WICC.
...
Another speaker will be Captain James H Hancort of 334 Stratford Avenue, a retired captain in the U S merchant marine.  He is one of four brothers all of whom held license as ship's masters.  The other brothers are Joseph of Stratford, skipper of the Naugatuck, a freighter, Frank of Newfield avenue, captain of the steamer Salutation, which plies the Sound [unreadable] New London for its home port, and Captian Lein[?] Hancort of Newton...
There are other articles in this newspaper about his paintings — apparently he was an artist of note — but I didn't extract them.
