Given Ruel's youth, it's hard to believe Truman might be Ruel's son from a prior marriage, but it's not outside the realm of possibility.  Listed three households from Ruel's parents, "Danl. FOLTEN" (æ 64, b. VT — indexed "Totten") and his wife, Polly (æ 67, b. VT), and Ruel's brother, Gaylord "FOLTEN" (æ 24, b. NY — indexed "Totten"), and his wife Harriet (æ 22, b. NY).

OBITUARY
Mary Humphrey was born at Stephentown, Rensellaer county, New York, April 5, 1824.  She was one of ten children, only one surviving her, William Humphrey, of Napoleon, Ohio, being now eighty six years old.  The family settled on a farm in LaGrange township in 1830.  She married Ruel Fulton in 1846.  To this union was born a son and daughter: Delancy, born in 1848, died 1891.  At the time of his death he was pastor of the Heston Street Baptist church, of Toledo. Lottie H., born 1851, died 1865.

Her husband, Ruel, served in the civil war for three years, being discharged in 1863 on account of ill health, and died October 17, 1864.

The deceased was baptized a member of the First Baptist church of LaGrange, January 21, 1835, since which time she has remained a member of the denomination, though connected with churches in different parts of the country.

She died at her home October 8, at the age of eighty two years, three months and three days.

Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church of LaGrange, October 10, by the pastor, Rev. W.M. Hart.  Interment was made in the LaGrange cemetery.

So, where was "home," LaGrange or Toledo?
