In an 1895 letter written by a granddaughter, it says that Nancy's mother was "Amia Post," of English descent.  "Amia" appears to be a mis-reading of Anna or Annie, but where did the "POST" come from?  Is Martin's wife correctly identified?

We have a letter written by Harriet (our Robert & Nancy's oldest child) in 1895 (our Nancy Ely/Ealy was still alive in 1895).  In this letter Harriet states that Nancy (her mother) said that her mother's name was Amia Post, was of "yanky decent" and died in her 91st year and her father was of "dutch decent" and died at the age of 80.
