Henry EDWARDS
Letitia RICHARDSON
WARNING:  I've stopped working on this page without finishing it.  What I don't see is how any children, at all, have been attached to this couple.  Can someone please share the basis for them (primary records not secondary ones)?  In the meantime, it appears to me the two EDWARD'es I'm interested in were born in NC, not in VA, so are almost certainly not their children, even though secondary sources attach them to our couple.  Unless I find some new evidence to suggest they are related, I'm not spending any more time on this page.  I have found nothing to document the identites of our subject's children, so caveat emptor!
Note also that our subject's wife, Catherine BOONE, is alleged to be kin to Daniel BOONE giving people a strong incentive to connect to our subject, even when evidence is lacking.
Husband:  Henry EDWARDS
Birth:  6 May 1772
Death:  Feb 1847, Carroll Co., VA
Father:  Alexander Isaac EDWARDS
Mother:  Catherine BOONE

Note that while Henry was in the early censuses of Grayson Co., VA, once Carroll County was formed from Grayson County in 1842, the family turns out to have been in what became Carroll County.

Marriage:
Wife:  Letitia RICHARDSON
Birth:  ca. 1776
Death:  Apr 1835, Carroll Co., VA
Father:  John RICHARDSON
Mother:  Mary __?__
Children said to be:
  1.  Jane EDWARDS, b. 1790-1800; died or remarried 1830s; m. by 1830, Abraham COOLEY (1790s-1830s)
  2.  John EDWARDS, b. 12 May 1799, VA; d. 28 Feb 1879; m1. 6 Jul 1820, Grayson Co., VA, Edith WORRELL (1802-1859); 1850 Census, Carroll Co., VA; m2. 12 Jun 1864, Carroll Co., VA, Sarah NEWMAN (1819-1904)
  3.  Isaac EDWARDS, b. 1800, VA; m. Mary "Polly" __?__; 1850 Census, Carroll Co., VA
  4.  Sarah "Sallie" EDWARDS, b. 5 Jul 1802, VA; d. 30 Jul 1884, Hamilton Co., IN; m. James M. HILL (1799-1875); 1850 Census, Hamilton Co., IN
  5.  Mary EDWARDS, b. 1805/6, VA; d. 31 Aug 1868; m. Silas WARD (1808- ); 1850 Census, Carroll Co., VA
  6.  Martin EDWARDS, b. 1806/7, VA; d. 1900; m. Mary WARD (1806-1889); 1850 Census, Carroll Co., VA
  7.  William EDWARDS, b. 2 Apr 1810; d. 31 Oct 1866, Wythe Co., VA; m. Martha __?__ [not Martha COOLEY]; 1850 Census, Surry Co., NC
  8.  Catherine EDWARDS, b. 5 Mar 1812, VA; d. 11 Jan 1888, Stark Co., IL; m. 24 Nov 1839, Joseph Harvey COX (1814-1897); 1850 Census, Stark Co., IL
  9.  Letitia EDWARDS, b. 1814/5, VA; m. Hance H. KENNEY (1804/5- ); 1850 Census, Carroll Co., VA
I'm not convinced the above list is correct.  For example, some say Catherine was married in Illinois.  If so, what was she doing there?  Young, unmarried women usually live with their parents until they're married, suggesting Catherine's parents had moved to Illinois, a move our subject does not appear to have made.
There's no daughter this age with our subject in the 1830 census:
.  Elizabeth EDWARDS, b. 1817/8, VA; m. Joel ASHWORTH (1805/6- ); 1850 Census, Carroll Co., VA

Some secondary sources attribute these children to our subject, but note that they were born in NC, not VA, and did not live in Carroll County:
William P. EDWARDS, b. 1806/7, NC; d. 1870s; m. Martha COOLEY; 1850 Census, Grayson Co., VA
John D. EDWARDS, b. 1808/9, NC; m. Catherine B. ROBERTSON; 1850 Census, Grayson Co., VA
Martha Jane EDWARDS, b. 1808/9, NC; m. Alexander CARRICO; 1850 Census, Washington Co., VA
These are the children of John & Mary E. (__?__) EDWARDS, of NC and Grayson Co., VA.

No. & Sex Age Class Therefore Born Individuals Inferred
1 male 9 or under 1810-1820 = William (b. 1810)
1 male 10-15 1804-1810 = John (b. 1808/9)
2 males 19-25* 1794-1801 =
1 male 26-44 1775-1794 = Henry (b. 1772)
2 females 9 or under 1810-1820
= Catherine (b. 1812)
1 female 10-15 1804-1810 =
2 females 16-25 1794-1804 =
1 female 45 or over in or bef. 1775 = Letitia (b. ca. 1776)
3 persons engaged in agriculture
*In the 1820 Census, the third column is age class 16-18 and the fourth column is age class 16-25, which means any individual in column three is duplicated in column four.  So, for an accurate representation of the household, the number in column three should be subtracted from the number in column four. If, after the subtraction, any individuals remain in column four, then they have to be age 19-25, thus creating a "new," more precise age class.
